Reviews

  • Maybe their most underrated album

The fact that this album has no reviews speaks to just how unappreciated it is. Starting off strong with songs like "What Else Would You Have Me Be?" and "I Can Get Us Out of Here", the latter of which Ben Nichols has said is his attempt at "Born to Run", capture a classic rock sound. The addition of Rick Steff on piano added a whole new dynamic to the band, a dynamic which has continued throughout all their records since. The problem is people don't pay attention to the last half of Rebels, Rogues. Songs like "Cass", "Sing Me No Hymns" and "The Weight of Guilt" are some of the best tracks Lucero has ever recorded. For whatever reason, they don't seem to have ever caught on. A flawless record from start to finish. Required purchase for any Lucero fan.
