It's 2017 & I'm watching the movie... again. So many similarities with E Street Band. This Jersey Girl finally bought the album.

nightcrawl u got me i've been with iTunes sence 1988 uner many assumed ides and i'll be **med if i have not and lost over 500 sonds so good luck i mean it if you can get and answer to your question, anyway when this move came out i seen at least if not 6 times and i'am on 7 cd go figure. However i like eddie and the Cruisers Eddie Lives has more of a strong story liner. Rock On John Cafferty its really because of u that this charator had a life and those who watch gave eddie to us and those of us saw it over and over just fell in love with him

Tender Years is a magical song. When this movie came out, i was 11 years old. Watched it over and over again. I was into Def Leppard, Motley Crue then i progressed into California skate punk music, then i tripped on acid while listening to Hendrix on headphones. Well, you can guess what i started listening to. But everytime this movie would come on HBO, i would stop, sit and listen. It wasnt just another Hollywood money grab. It was saying goodbye to something special as Americans we all share. Our innocence. Our past relived through a soundtrack. No matter how tough you think you are . Somewhere inside you the notes from Tender years will always strike an emotion, creating visions in your mind of a simpler time. Like your first slow dance or your first love.
  • A forgotten classic of the early 1980's

I completely forgot about this movie and soundtrack until someone mentioned it recently. Actually, I remembered it as being a terrible waste of my time. I re-watched the movie and was taken by the music. At my age it isn't nostalgia or the like. It just struck me; this album was so much better than I remembered. The movie wasn't bad either. Maybe I'm softer or just more worldly. In any event, if you remember the early '80's as us later "boomers" do, this is great edition to your collection.

This is one of the few soundtracks that I own and is one that brings back great memories of growing up in the 80’s. This movie and its music gave us a perspective of a more innocent time in American history without us having to listen to the music of our parents. While it isn’t the typical 80’s music, every time I hear it on the radio it makes me think about the great times I had back in the day.
